Minnesota's Historic Shipwrecks are not limited to shipwrecks or to Lake Superior. They include the remains of ancient Indian camps that were built on now-inundated shorelines of Lake Superior and the interior lakes. Water levels have fluctuated greatly due to climatic changes, geological processes, and human interference. More recent features such as docking structures, navigation aids, and other port facilities are also present beneath the water. All of these resources can potentially tell us something about the past and add excitement to diving excursions.
