Wreck diving can be one of the most interesting types of dives you can encounter. They can be simple enough for the beginner or challenging and hazardous enough to require special training to dive the wreck safely. In either case, the one thing all wreck dives have in common is a story and a myriad of questions to answer. What is it? When did it get there? How did it get there? Where did it come from? Where was it going? Why did it sink? Who was on it? For the curious, once the dive has been chosen, the story behind the wreck always wants to come alive. (More below)

Wrecks of many kinds can be found almost anywhere in the world. A myriad of airplanes, fishing boats, freighters, military scuttles and more are waiting to be explored. If this is a type of dive that intrigues you, take the time to learn about particular safety measures needed on the dive, the history of the particular wreck where you will be diving, what makes the dive easy or difficult. The more preparation done in advance of the dive will help you to notice things that may otherwise go overlooked and make the story really come alive. If you have a dive you want to find out about or want to tell about your experience, visit the Discussion Board here at ScubaDuba.
