Scuba diving has to be the greatest outdoor water sport in terms of expanding your reality. It is literally like discovering a whole new world or planet. Once you get hooked, scuba diving can become incredibly addictive because there are endless dive sites around the globe offering incredible aquatic and coral diversity in vastly different environments. Every dive is different from what species of fish, crustaceans, and cetaceans you see to the depth of the dive and even the artifacts you engage such as sunken ships. It truly opens your eyes to the microcosms that exist despite us, and how our awareness of our interconnectivity to them is critical to the survival and health of the undersea world    (More below)

While some of these sites can be engaged by skin diving and swimming, many of them are not accessible this way. Scuba Diving is that next step in experiencing a vastly unexplored environment for many people. It's one thing to see a sea turtle swimming below you while you snorkel and quite another to grab on and take a ride! To be able to jump into the wonder of the undersea world for longer than you can hold your breath is indescribable. Whether in a pool taking lessons with a class or at a resort with a private instructor, the first time you get in the water with your gear on will be a time you are not likely to forget.

A variety of sites and dives are available to the scuba diver; however, you may find yourself migrating to a more specific type of dive. Whether your taste is for exotic destinations or local rivers and lakes, you will find a dive to enjoy. You may prefer a dive where you are able to float with the currents while relaxing and taking in the sights. On the other hand, getting the adrenaline rush as you jump in the water with a few hundred hammerhead sharks might be more to your liking. If camera or video is your thing, underwater photography is a challenge and requires a lot of skill to do it well. Spear fishing , cave diving , nitrox and wreck diving are just a few of the other type of dives that await the scuba diver. Regardless of the dive, it 's fun to watch all the grins stuck to everyone's face as they surface each time from a new experience.
