Aquarius Underwater Laboratory is the world's only saturation diving facility for marine biologists who study coral reefs and our coastal ocean. The lab posts project information, lesson plans, expedition journals, live web cameras from inside the lab and outside on the reef during missions, and more. The lab is currently based at Key Largo, Florida.
AquaThought Foundation is a privately funded research organization headquartered in Torrance, California and dedicated to the exploration of human-dolphin interaction. Since 1989, AquaThought has studied the neurological impact of close contact with dolphins on human subjects and the related healing phenomena. Bermuda Aquarium , opened in 1928, displays a variety of exquisite and unique marine life found on the Bermuda platform. Colourful wrasses, parrotfish and angelfish are shown along with large eels, groupers, barracuda and sharks. An exhibit on Bermuda's marine communities explains the importance of seagrass beds and coral reefs. Lilliputian marine life is found in several minature tanks which give a close look at bioluminescent corals, colourful decorator crabs and seahorses.

Cephalod Page (TCP) was created and is maintained by Dr. James B. Wood, a marine biologist and underwater photographer. The site is hosted by Dalhousie University with a mirror sire hosted by The Natural History Museum (UK) for EU visitors. Dolphin Project is to educate the public to stop the exploitation of marine mammals (capturing and confining them to learn about them or to teach them behaviors and procedures for humankind's edification or enjoyment), and teach that rehabilitation-and-release comprises a viable alternative for those animals already captured; rehabilitate and retrain all captive dolphins suitable for release, or provide humane retirement in dolphin-correct habitats for all captive dolphins not suitable for rehabilitation-and-release because of poor health or loss of the ability to provide for themselves in a natural environment. Hawaiian Malacological Society (HMS) was established in October 1941 on Oahu, Hawaii but went into a period of hibernation, so to speak, with the attack on Pearl Harbor and World War II. It was reactivated after the War in August 1946, and among its principal objects and purposes are to promote, stimulate, maintain and perpetuate an interest in malacology, as well as the preservation and protection of natural habitats. The Hawaiian Malacological Society is actually an international organization with members all over the world. The HMS also publishes the Hawaiian Shell News, and many of their past articles can be found here.

Marine Mammal Center is a private, non-profit organization based in Sausalito, California that rescues, rehabilitates and releases orphaned, injured, or stranded marine mammals along a thousand mile stretch of California coastline, from Mendocino County to San Luis Obispo County, including the entire San Francisco Bay Area. The Center conducts research into marine mammal health and immunology, and provides educational programs.
Marine Mammal Stranding Center is a private non-profit organization based in Brigantine, New Jersey. Since the Center's founding in 1978, it has responded to over 1500 calls for stranded whales, dolphins, seals, and sea turtles that washed ashore on New Jersey beaches. These animals range from a 5 lb. Kemps Ridley Sea Turtle to a 25 ton Humpback whale (both of which are endangered species). Donations and membership dollars allow the MMSC to continue to expand their facility and care for the increasing number of animals.

Mote Marine Laboratory (MML) of Sarasota, Florida, is an independent, nonprofit research organization dedicated to excellence in marine and environmental sciences. Since its inception in 1955, the laboratory's primary missions have been the pursuit of excellence in scientific research and the dissemination of information to the scientific community as well as to the general public. Public outreach is accomplished through the Mote Marine Aquarium, an educational museum providing marine programs for all levels, from elementary-school children through adults. Okinawa Slug Site is a site maintained by Bob Bolland of the University of Maryland, dedicated to the study of Opisthobranch Mollusks of Okinawa's subtropical Western Pacific waters. Bob's included a taxonomic list of the Okinawan Opisthobranch Mollusks collected by him over a good many years. He's also included a short physical and climatic description of Okinawa and its parental island group, the Ryukyus Archipelago, a map of Okinawa showing the island's physical location within Asia, as well as some environmental problems associated with the local marine environment in this part of the Western Pacific.

Texas Marine Mammal Stranding Network (TMMSN) is an organization dedicated to the study and conservation of marine mammals. When a mammal strands, volunteers go to work. Animals stranding alive receive immediate first-aid attention and are transported to a holding tank. At the facility, treatment is directed by a qualified veterinarian and round-the-clock workers are necessary to monitor the condition of the animal. It is a very expensive and time consuming process. A supportive and informed public is vital to the success of the network.
