Flag ACUC -- American Canadian Underwater Certification is Canada's indigenous scuba certification body. ACUC's historical and primary function is to provide quality training and support for the Scuba Diving Population. ACUC promotes and supports underwater diving education, particularly as it relates to the improvement of diving safety, water ecology and Marine Environment Protection and Preservation. ACUC strives to provide accurate, up-to-date, training to the diving public, and to encourage divers to increase their knowledge throughadvanced training and continually improving diving skills.

Flag American Academy of Underwater Sciences is a non-profit, self-regulating corporation, based in based in Nahant, Massachusetts, and composed of active diving scientists dedicated to the establishment and maintenance of standards of practice for scientific diving. The "AAUS Standards for Scientific Diving Certification and Operation of Scientific Diving Programs" are followed by most major universities and scientific organizations involved in underwater research.

Flag BSAC -- British Sub Aqua Club has been internationally recognised as the world's leading sports diver training agency for more than 40 years. With more than 400 schools and 90,000 members in more than 50 countries, the BSAC is the single largest diving club in the world. The BSAC promotes underwater sport, exploration, science and safety to the highest standards. The agency's president is no less than His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, who has held that post since 1974.

Flag Canadian Association of Diving Contractors has constructed a site to be the Internet connection to the CanadianCommercial Diving Industry. The purpose of the website is to create a forum where commercial diving activites in Canada can be showcased throughout the world. It is also a way where the membership can be kept up to date on what is happening and what the association is doing for them. It will deal with items of safety, education, regulations and other matters of importance to the commercial diving industry both nationally and internationally.


Flag Cen Cal -- Central California Council of Diving Clubs is comprised of and supported by many dive clubs located in Northern and Central California. In this manner, the scuba and skindiving community presents a united front for the betterment of diving that otherwise cannot be achieved.


Flag CMAS -- World Underwater Federation , is one of the worlds oldest certification agencies, with no less than the late Jacques Yves Costeau being one of its founding members.. In addition to certifying divers, CMAS is also dedicated to the preservation of the oceans. Their site is available in both English and French.


Flag Cozumel WaterSports Association was formed to protect Cozumel's sacred marine environment, and to develop and maintain quality standards for your enjoyment and safety. The Association was created to insure not only the quality of services offered on the island, but also to offer increased safety to those using those services. The ANOAAT Safety Commitee has created three (3) Oxygen Support Stations along the National Park in Cozumel. This safety program feature will insure the availability of Oxygen to all those in need while diving the Cozumel waters.


Flag DAN -- Divers Alert Network , based in Durham, North Carolina, is a nonprofit scuba diving and dive safety association providing expert medical advisc for underwater injuries, emergency information, research and products.


Flag DEMA -- Diving Equipment & Marketing Association is a global association of companies and organizations whose mission is to promote and provide sustainable growth in safe recreational diving while protecting the water environment.represents leading companies in the recreational scuba diving industry. At DEMA's site, members will find the latest industry news, information, and contacts, as well as the schedule and programs set for upcoming DEMA shows. The Dive Industry section has info about the benefits of joining DEMA, including access to the industry's largest trade show. Flag Dive Rescue International , based in Fort Collins, Colorado, provides technical training programs and equipment to Public Safety Divers worldwide. Their web site lists training programs that are available to members of law enforcement, fire rescue, SAR agencies and recognized Dive Teams. Dive Rescue International also provides equipment sales, repair, service and technical support to agencies and team members.


Flag DRI - Dive Rescue International , based in Fort Collins, Colorado, provides 28 water rescue-recovery-investigation training programs to law enforcement, fire rescue, EMS and SAR team members. These programs are offered worldwide, and their Training Calendar is updated weekly.


Flag Hong Kong Underwater Association is a non-profit organization established to promote safety and awareness of the marine environment for finswimming, snorkeling, scuba diving and other underwater activities in Hong Kong. HKUA actively promotes environmentally friendly and safe diving practices, and is involved in undersea awareness activities and underwater clean-ups.


Flag IDEA -- International Diving Educators Association is the offshoot of the very first organization to ever offer certification to sport divers, and is the originator of the Safe Diving Concept. IDEA has worldwide recognition, worldwide availability of training facilities and an International Headquarters in Jacksonville, Florida.


Flag International Association of Nitrox and Technical Divers (IANTD) , located in Miami Shores, Florida, is the only EANx agency that offers training in all aspects of EANx through continuing education programs. FlagThe mission of the IUCRR - International Underwater Cave Rescue and Recovery is to support all Public Safety Agencies in the rescue and/or recovery of victims in an underwater environment (with an overhead obstruction such as caves, caverns, mine shafts, etc. or those beyond standard recreational no-deco limits). Membership is totally voluntary and primarily consists of trained, experienced cave, wreck, trimix and other specialty divers. Supporting agencies include the NSS-CDS, NACD, IANTD, GUE and local law enforcement through each regional coordinator.

Flag Maritime Archaeological and Historical Society , located in the Washington, DC area, is a nationally recognized non-profit, tax-exempt organization dedicated to the research and preservation of our maritime heritage and to increasing the general public's awareness of this heritage. As part of our charter, we hold monthly meetings with guest speakers, conduct various underwater archaeology courses and a field school annually, and participate in various interesting and exciting archaeological and historical projects.


Flag Midwest Diving Council is an organization comprised of dive clubs from the Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma and Arkansas that promotes skin diving, scuba diving, scuba skills, underwater photography, underwater hockey, fun diving and other related events.


Flag NAPD -- National Academy Of Police Diving , a not for profit corporation based in Coral Gables, Florida, was founded in 1988 by a group of full time Police Divers who observed the need for the standardization of Public Safety Diver Training. Staff members are current certified and insured Police Diver and Special Response Diver Instructors as well as recreational SCUBA Diving Instructors from nationally recognized certifying organizations. All Police Diver Instructors are certified by the Criminal Justice Standard s and Training Commission from the state they represent. The NAPD has provided training to Police Divers and Special Response Divers from throughout the continental United States, Caribbean and Central America. The NAPD is concerned with Police and Public Safety Diver training, state of the art diving techniques, training methodologies and underwater investigations.


Flag NAPSD -- National Association of Public Safety Divers is set up for the public safety diver. They are working on uniform training for search and recovery teams. The organizaton is always looking for feed back from the S&R diving community.


Flag NARD -- National Association Of Rescue Divers , based in Houston, Texas, was founded in 1985 for the purpose of compiling information on prehospital care of water related accidents, and getting that information to the people who need it. Their goal is to help organize highly trained water rescue provider services for communities that need them.


Flag National Association For Cave Diving (NACD) , was established in 1968 for the purpose of achieving safer cave diving through training and education. As a pioneer in cave training, education, exploration and research, the NACD maintains numerous goals that establish current guidelines, encourage education and distribution of safety info, achieves closer cooperation between cave and recreational divers, and more. Check out their site for details on the NACD's activities and projects. The NACD is headquartered in Gainesville, Florida.


Flag National Undersea Research Center for the North Atlantic & Great Lakes is located at the University of Connecticut Avery Point Campus in Groton, Connecticut along the shores of Long Island Sound. The Center supports in situ research in Southern New England, the Gulf of Maine, and the Great Lakes. NURC-NA&GL provides operational support and funding for reviewed projects within its geographic region.


Flag NAUI -- National Association of Underwater Instructors has provided quality diving instruction to hundreds of thousands of diving students all over the world by applying the association motto, 'Safety Through Education.' Their site is intended to provide useful information to NAUI members, divers of all affiliations and non-diving members of the general public.


Flag Navy Experimental Diving Unit (NEDU) is a unique organization with a highly technical mission: To test and evaluate diving equipment, practices, and procedures prior to actual Fleet issue to determine operational suitability, limitations, and conformance to established U.S. Navy diving standards. NEDU is based in Panama City Beach, Florida, and is committed to diving excellence and the continued development and advancement of state-of-the-art diving equipments and techniques.


Flag NUMA -- National Underwater & Marine Agency is a 501c3 non-profit founded by author Clive Cussler in 1979 to preserve maritime history. In 1999, Dr. Cussler launched a NUMA Web site to make available the research he and his team of marine archaeologists have gathered in the more than 20 years that they have searched for missing ships and planes. NUMA is a non-profit, volunteer foundation dedicated to preserving our maritime heritage through the discovery, archaeological survey and conservation of shipwreck artifacts.

Flag Ohio Council of Skin and Scuba Divers began in 1959, shortly after the first diving clubs were formed in Ohio. Originally formed to oversee training standards for scuba enthusiasts and to govern inter-club competitions, the Ohio Council has expanded its mission to include providing a unified voice for Ohio's divers in legislative matters.


Flag PADI -- Professional Association Of Diving Instructors PADI, the Professional Association of Diving Instructors, is the world's largest recreational diving organization, with more than 5300 dive centers and resorts and 130,000 dive professionals worldwide. For 40 years, PADI has set the standard for quality, fun and excellence in diver education. More divers participate in PADI programs than any other; making a PADI certification the most recognized and respected in the world. PADI maintains over 15,000,000 diver certification records and issues just under 1,000,000 diver certifications each year in over 183 countries and territories.


Flag PSA -- Professional Scuba Association was the first training agency to offer EXTENDED RANGE DIVE TRAINING to recreational divers. All Extended Range Training is done at Hal Watts' Forty Fathom Grotto located in Ocala, Florida. This unique dive site has been designed for instructors of all agencies to teach all levels of diving programs from basic open water to TRIMIX. Hal Watts, one of the pioneers of diving, holds the fresh water cave dive world record to 415' and the PSA staff has trained six world record deep air divers. The PSA staff are also members of many other recreational training agencies such as IANTD, NACD, NASDS, NAUI, NSS/CDS, PADI, SSI, & TDI.


Flag SAA -- the Sub-Aqua Association was founded in 1976 to give independent diving clubs in Great Britain a strong voice in the country's diving affairs. Originally, this union took the form of a diving register of non-affiliated clubs, but demand grew quickly for a more formal organisation. Subsequently, a training programme and guidelines were drawn up and the SAA was born to promote the UK independent club diving system. Their site offers contact addresses/phone numbers for hundreds of the friendliest diving clubs in Britain. The SAA invites you to come and join them for a dive - it's not 'that' cold, or murky!


Flag Scuba America Historical Center was founded in 1974 by Albert Tillman and Zale Parry of Olga, Washington. The archives now consist of over 25,000 photographs, over 100 books, complete collections of all diving magazines and journals, over 500 recorded interviews, films, equipment, and much more. The site includes information on their museum, publications, articles, historical timeline, Hall of Fame and speaker listing.


Flag Scuba Clubs' Association of New South Wales -- SCAN has been set up to be the focal point of scuba clubs in NSW and the ACT. SCANs' aim is to promote scuba diving, foster relations between scuba clubs, represent scuba divers' views to Government and other bodies and to encourage the conservation and protection of marine environments.


Flag Scuba Industries Trade Association -- SITA based in Kent, England, aims to represent the manufacturers, distributors, retailers, training organisations, registered dive schools, dive boat charter operators, journals travel organisations and recognised, approved marine charities, relating to the Scuba Industry.


Flag Seamark 2000 is an annual fundraising party at Boston's New England Aquarium, with all proceeds going to help disabled kids. Founded 26 years ago, the party is lots of fun, with a Jimmy Buffet band, full dinner, raffles, door prizes, trips, underwater photo auction, sea lion show, and opportunity to meet and hang out with other divers.


FlagSince its inception in 1969, SEASPACE , based in Houston, Texas, has been dedicated to education and protection of the marine environment. One of the world's finest dive expositions, SEASPACE is produced by the combined efforts of a professional staff and more than 250 volunteers. Proceeds of their annual show fund a marine-related scholarship fund that, over the years, has provided more than $360,000 in scholarships and grants. SEASPACE is for families, couples, and singles; snorkelers, sport divers, new divers, pro divers, armchair divers, beachcombers, world-travelers and water sports lovers. It's enlightening, entertaining, and supports a great cause.


Flag SSI -- Scuba Schools International was founded in 1970 and has grown to become one of the largest certifying agencies in the world. Since the mid-eighties, SSI has established many regional centers around the globe, each servicing the SSI Dealers in their region. While they have grown to be quite large internationally, their goal is not the be the biggest - but the best. Their site provides info on their affiliated dealers, courses and resorts.


Flag United States Dental Diving Association (U.S.D.D.A.) is comprised of dentists who share the common interest of scuba diving. They meet five times per year and combine morning diving with afternoon seminars. The seminars are given by various members of their group on subjects of interest all members.


Flag Women's Scuba Association , based in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, was founded in 1992 with the major goals of forming a networking association for women who worked in the diving industry and to provide a focal point for women divers and their concerns. Their site provides info on their membership, activities and resources.


Flag YMCA became the first organization to certify SCUBA Instructors and divers based on defined national standards in 1959. Today the YMCA National SCUBA Program offers more than 25 entry level, advanced and specialty courses related to snorkeling, skin diving and SCUBA diving, and contributes to the YMCA's long tradition for excellence in aquatic training.
