 Kuwait Diving Team was formed on December 25, 1991 by the members of the Marine Environment Amateurs Association, which is a part of the Kuwait Science Club, who felt the necessity to build a specialized local team to face deal with the marine environment pollution caused by the Iraqis during the occupation of Kuwait. Their job was to salvage the great number of boats and yachts that the Iraqi enemy had sunk in beaches and sea clubs in Kuwait.
